This Japanese Maple grows as a small, deciduous tree complete with palmate leaves that turn red and endure for the entire season.

'Pigeon Point' is a compact, evergreen groundcover that grows 18"- 24" tall and 10'-12' wide. It is the preferred form of the Coyote Bush. Its leaves are green; it has white flowers that bloom in the fall. It is important to plant this groundcover that are at least 6' -10' apart. Otherwise they will overgrow each other and create a high groundcover. 'Pigeon Point' is tolerant of ocean spray and is deer resistant.

The Valley Oak is a large deciduous tree that grows 60'-80' tall. It develops a rounded canopy that spreads 50'-70' wide with leaves deeply lobed and rounded. The Valley Oak is very heat tolerant and drought tolerant once its root system is developed. It is a native to CA and attracts squirrels and birds who love the acorns.

Scotch Pine

Some features of the Pinus sylvestris include its stout, twisted needles and egg-shaped cones. Its trunk is often straight; the bark, which peels in irregular plates, is a purple gray color which changes to orange and flaking toward the top. Positive growth will result from planting in acidic, well-drained soil. It is best to destroy severely beetle-ridden trees. Pines are highly combustible plants.
