Common name:Basket of Gold, Goldentuft
Botanical name:Aurinia saxatilis

Use as a foreground plant in borders, in rock gardens, and atop walls. This plant is generally hardy but may be killed in extremely cold winters. Dense clusters of tiny golden yellow flowers cover the plant in spring and early summer.

Pink Muhly Grass

Common name:Pink Muhly Grass
Botanical name:Muhlenbergia capillaris

Mounding grass grows quickly to 3' x 3'. Leaves are medium green and turn tan in fall. Pink airy plumes appear in fall. Place plants where pink flower plumes can be backlit by the sun. Look for selections with deep pink flower plumes. Accepts full sun or partial shade. Very frost tolerant. Prune in early spring for best looking new growth. Native to Texas and Mexico.

Prostrate Genista is a low growing, partially deciduous shrublet hovering 2' high with a spreading growth habit. It has many yellow flowers that appear in spring and summer. It is drought tolerant. -Cornflower Farms

Sea Pink, Common Thrift

Common name:Sea Pink, Common Thrift
Botanical name:Armeria maritima

This clumping, grass-like perennial can be planted in full sun in coastal areas but needs afternoon shade in warm inland areas This CA native has small pink flowers that resemble pom poms that bloom in spring and summer. This cute flower can be used between pavers as it can tolerate light foot traffic. Overall height of plant is about 1' tall. It is drought tolerant near coastal areas but requires more water in hot summer areas.
