Common name:Vanderwolf's Blue Pine
Botanical name:Pinus flexilis 'Vanderwolf's Pyramid'

Vanderwolf's Pyramid Pine is a distinctive, densely branched, pyramidal selection of Limber Pine. Its branches display long, twisting, blue green needles with a light blue line on the undersides. Choose a north or east exposure protected from the wind for this pine. Pines are highly combustible plants. It needs full sun to part shade.

This Rockrose is a bushy evergreen shrub 4' high and 6' across with narrow, gray green leaves and complimentary clear pink flowers. Flowers appear in great profusion in mid-spring and can continue well into summer. It is more refined in character than most other rockroses, and well-suited to smaller gardens. -Native Sons Nursery

Five-Spot Nemophila

Botanical name:Nemophila maculata

This beautiful annual is a California native that grow to about 1' tall. Its showy white flower is about 1" wide, with lobes of purple dots. There are usually 5-9 lobes, thus the common name, Five-Spot, for the purple splashes of color on the outer petals. The seeds are greenish-brown and are either smooth or shallowly pitted. Bees love the nectar from the fruit.

Butterfly bush is a fast growing deciduous or semi-evergreen shrub ranging from 3' up to 10', with an open, rangy growth habit. It should be cut back nearly to the ground in fall for size control and appearance. Purple, pink, white or red flowers appear in spring and summer, attracting butterflies. Sterile varieties are required in Oregon because of invasive issues. Use 'Asian Moon','Blue Chip', or 'Purple Haze' for example.

Karl Foerster Feather Reed Grass

Botanical name:Calamagrostis X acutiflora 'Karl Foerste

This ornamental perennial grass grows 4-6' tall x 1-1.5' wide and has semi-evergreen foliage that is green in spring and summer and turns green/brown in fall. The flowers bloom in mid June and emerge a light green but quickly turn to pink/purple.

This narrow tree will grow to about 25' tall and has small, green, scaled leaves.

Fraser Photinia

Botanical name:Photinia X fraseri

The Photina fraseri is an evergreen, medium-sized shrub with new foliage that is a glistening, copper red color. It is excellent as a hedge, screen, or accent plant. It should be grown under conditions of sun.
