Leucojum aestivum
Summer or Giant Snowflake
Description
This is a woodland bedding bulb that blooms in the spring. The pendant flowers look like white bells, with 6 petals tipped with a dot of emerald green. Multiple flowers dangle on stems 18" in length. Leaves are straplike and grow 1'-2' long and less than 1" wide. Leaves grow from the bulb and bend down gracefully. Flowers are mildly fragrant. This bulb looks best if planted in masses but can naturalize an area. Water regularly during springtime; it can tolerate drought during summer.

Watering every day results in shallow roots.
Instead, water deeply every few days using the Cycle and Soak method (two or more short run times, each separated by about an hour).
