Cryptomeria japonica 'Elegans'
Plume Cedar, Japanese Cedar
Description
A beautiful form tree, this Cedar is a slow-growing tree, which is irregular and oval-shaped during youth. Its branches are dense with soft, medium green, young form foliage. During the autumn and winter, the foliage changes to a reddish-purple color. While the tree is attractive during youth, it may be open and somewhat straggly as a mature specimen. Rhododendron amkes an especially nice combination evergreen shrub with this tree.

Consider replacing some lawn areas with groundcovers, trees, and shrubs.
Good candidates for removal are portions of large lawns, areas where no one uses the grass, patches that don't grow well, or spaces too small to water without overspray.
